HELLO !

For all of you who have never known me, I am the owner of RANTAU and my name is Angela Raharjo. I was born in Solo, 2nd January 1995, today I am 25 years old. Since I was a child, my parents have introduced various Indonesian handicrafts such as sculptures, paintings, furniture, pottery, to fabrics. Until one day, about 3 years ago my love for Indonesian handicrafts become even more crazy. Began when i found a palm ejection wallet on the market. Palm leaves were woven, folded until became sheets and formed into a folding wallet. It was love at first sight, the color, texture, also the details has impressed me and I never imagine that those pretty wallet was made with bare hands. From then on, I wanted to introduce the Indonesian handicrafts to the world, change their mindset about an old and boring local products.

I started RANTAU on 14th March 2018 not long after I gave birth to my first child. It was the most beautiful moment and a hard time for me to pass because I was a single parent. But like all the good quotes said, life must keep moving on. Having a baby and opening a business at the same time is very challenging, time management and being happy are an important key in raising both. Certainly draining, but today RANTAU has become half of my soul.

I established RANTAU as one of my ways to share happiness with others, share happiness with Indonesian craftsmen by continuously buying their products, and share happiness with my customers by presenting the best products at affordable prices also with satisfying services. I started it from very bottom, from small funds, limited energy, and less varied products. But I didn't stop there, I keep looking for any craftsmen who makes unique product, collect it, packaging their handwork nicely and classy, so that their products are worthy to be introduced to the outsiders as good quality local products. Yes, I still doing all of that until now. I'll continue to improve our product quality, product innovation and also services, so RANTAU can continue to bring happiness to many people all around the world.
